What this notice covers
This notice covers public visits and submissions on bairdforestry.com. It does not replace the privacy terms of an outside site reached through a link. Standard hosting and security logs may record a request time, requested path, IP address, browser or user-agent information, and response status.
Contact and request forms
Information you choose to send
Inquiry forms ask for contact details and property or project context needed to evaluate fit. Depending on the form, that can include a name, email address, phone number, county, acreage, goals, deadline, preferred contact method, and message. Do not submit timber contracts, tax records, parcel IDs, medical information, financial-account information, or other sensitive records through these forms.
Form submissions are processed by Formspree and delivered to Baird Forestry. Formspree may also receive technical information such as an IP address, browser type, access time, and referring site. See the Formspree Privacy Policy.
Site measurement
Google Analytics
Production pages load Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and actions such as contact clicks, form starts and submissions, guide use, and tool use. Google Analytics can use cookies or similar identifiers and can receive device, browser, approximate-location, referrer, page, and interaction information.
Baird Forestry’s analytics code drops arbitrary query strings and fragments from recorded page locations, retaining only a short allowlist of campaign labels, reduces external referrers to their origin, and uses fixed categories rather than names, contact details, form answers, property descriptions, or map coordinates. No website code can describe account-side settings forever, so this notice and the configured tags must be reviewed before a new analytics or advertising vendor is added.

Historical Vegetation Atlas
Location searches and map layers
County, township, coordinate, and legal-description lookups use data shipped with the Atlas where possible. Address suggestions are requested directly from Photon, and a submitted address may be requested from the OpenStreetMap Foundation’s public Nominatim service. Those services receive the search text and ordinary network information. The Nominatim policy says not to submit personal or confidential material. Use a nearby road, town, township, coordinates, or legal description instead if you do not want to send an exact address.
Selecting terrain or satellite imagery requests map tiles from Esri. Those tile request paths correspond to the part of the map being viewed. The Atlas’s historical vegetation tiles and public boundary files are served from Baird Forestry’s own site. See the Esri Privacy Statement for Esri’s handling of requests to its services.
If you choose Use my location, the browser asks for permission and returns coordinates to the Atlas running on your device. The Atlas does not place the exact browser coordinates in Baird Forestry analytics or submit them as a form value. The browser or device location provider may have its own data practices, and Baird-hosted or third-party map-tile request paths can reveal the map area being viewed. If you choose Share, the copied link deliberately includes a rounded map center and zoom so another person can reopen the same view; do not share that URL if it reveals a location you want to keep private.
Stored on this device
Theme and calculator tally
The site uses browser local storage to remember the light or dark theme and, when the browser permits it, the calculator tally. Those values stay in the browser unless you clear site data. The calculator can create a CSV only when you choose Export; that file is created in the browser.
Planning worksheets and field packets
The timber offer, QFP and woodlot worksheets hold your entries in the current page. They do not upload answers or save them in local storage. Atlas field notes and measurement sketches also stay in the current page. Reloading or leaving the tool clears this working state. Print, text and image exports are created only when you choose them; you control any later sharing of those files.
Tool analytics record fixed actions such as opening a worksheet or exporting a packet. They do not include your offer prices, notes, answers, sketch coordinates or map center.

How to limit or ask about collection
- Use browser controls or a content blocker to limit cookies and analytics requests.
- Clear this site’s local storage to remove the saved theme and calculator tally.
- Use a county, township, or nearby location instead of an exact Atlas address.
- Call or email instead of using a form if that channel fits the information you need to share.
